This study aims to find out the effectiveness of teamwork and regular reflection in supporting student teachers to become self-directed learners. A four-week action plan was developed to foster year-1 biology student teachers in 2024-2025 to have more self-directed learning (SDL). A 60-item questionnaire on a Likert Scale of frequency containing five sections was utilized to collect the data for evaluating the SDL level of student teachers. Reliability Analysis in SPSS was employed to identify the reliability of the items, and Microsoft Excel was used to calculate the average of the responses and summed up the scores for identifying student teachers' SDL level, low, medium, or high. The results indicated that the student teachers have a high level of SDL with a total average score of 242.46. Therefore, group activities and regular reflection with a clear plan effectively foster SDL among student teachers.
