About KONG Lavitou
Ms. Kong Lavitou is a Cambodian biology educator currently serving as a lecturer at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. She also earned a Higher Education Teaching Certificate in Pedagogy from the National Institute of Education (NIE), which has strengthened her pedagogical expertise.
Ms. Lavitou has extensive teaching experience in both primary, secondary, and higher education. She began her career as an English teacher at a Phnom Penh primary school from 2002 to 2004, later serving as a biology teacher at Thala Borivath High School in Stung Treng province from 2007 to 2011. She further expanded her secondary teaching experience as a science teacher at Western International School from 2013 to 2022. Since 2011, she has been contributing to teacher training and education at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College, focusing on developing future educators in biology and related fields.
Her professional interests include biology education, reading, and educational research on the internet. Ms. Lavitou is fluent in Khmer and has a good working knowledge of English. She is recognized for being honest, hardworking, and dedicated to teamwork, and she is committed to enhancing the quality of science education in Cambodia through effective teaching and continuous professional development.
