About NHIM SOKDARA

NHIM Sokdara is a dedicated Teacher Educator at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) with over 15 years of experience in English language teaching and teacher training. He has extensive experience teaching at high school before fully transitioning to teacher education, where he now plays a key role in preparing the next generation of English teachers in Cambodia.

He holds a Master of Arts in English (TESOL) from Norton University, a Bachelor of English from Human Resources University (HRU), and a Trainee Teacher of English-ICT certificate from the National Institute of Education (NIE). He is currently pursuing a Master of Education (GEIP) at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). Throughout his career, he has actively participated in various professional development programs to enhance his teaching methodologies.

At PTEC, he plays a key role in training pre-service student teachers in effective English language teaching methodologies. He is actively engaged in developing course materials and delivering comprehensive teacher education programs. In addition, His primary focus is to prepare future student teachers with strong pedagogical skills, curriculum development expertise, and up-to-date teaching strategies that respond to the needs of modern classrooms.

He adopts a student-centered teaching approach that combines practical methodology with the effective use of technology in language learning. He is deeply passionate about supporting pre-service student teachers to strengthen their linguistic and communicative abilities, while guiding them to become confident, reflective, and highly competent educators.

Beyond his core professional duties, he remains strongly committed to lifelong learning and continuously seeks opportunities to enhance his knowledge and skills. He is dedicated to advancing English language education and improving the overall quality of teachers across Cambodia.
