About Samol Nguon

Mr. Nguon Sam Ol is currently serving as the Deputy Head of the Department of Language at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC), Cambodia. He is an experienced teacher educator, educational leader, and researcher with multidisciplinary expertise in literature and linguistics, educational management, and professional educational administration.

His academic background reflects three major areas of specialization. In the field of Literature and Linguistics, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Khmer Literature and a Master of Arts in Linguistics. In the field of Education, he obtained a Bachelor of Education in School-Based Management and a Master of Education in Educational Management Science, while currently pursuing doctoral studies in education. In addition, he has completed several professional training programs, including the Administrative Officer Training Course at the Royal School of Administration (ERA), the Certificate of Educational Inspection from the National Institute of Education (NIE), and the Certificate of Teacher of Higher Education (BA+1) with specialization in Khmer and English from NIE, Cambodia.

With more than twenty years of professional experience in secondary and higher education, Mr. Sam Ol has held various academic and administrative positions, including Educational Inspector at the Takeo Regional Office of Educational Inspection, Assistant to the Rector at one university, Head of Department of Foundation Year Course, and lecturer of Khmer Studies and Linguistics. He also served as Head of Khmer Technical Team and teacher of Khmer Literature and English at One High School in Takeo Province.

At PTEC, he supports teaching and learning activities in the Khmer language program, contributes to curriculum revision and development, prepares instructional materials for pre-service teachers, and promotes innovative and learner-centered teaching methodologies. He is actively engaged in educational research and professional development activities aimed at improving teacher education and instructional quality in Cambodia.

His research interests include Khmer linguistics, educational leadership, teacher education, curriculum development, teaching competency, constructivist instructional practices, transformational leadership, teaching self-efficacy, and cognitive flexibility. He has authored textbooks and research papers in Khmer linguistics, educational management, and teacher education, and has presented academic work at national and international conferences.

Mr. Sam Ol is committed to promoting quality education and preparing competent, ethical, and innovative future teachers who can effectively respond to the evolving demands of 21st-century education in Cambodia.
