About Samuth CHEA

Mr. CHEA Samuth is a teacher educator at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) with 19 years of teaching and teacher training experience.

He holds a Master of Education in Educational Planning and Management from Royal University of Phnom Penh, a Master's Degree in Teacher Education from Hiroshima University, a Diploma in Teacher Education from Osaka Kyoiku University, and a Bachelor of Education in English from the Institute of Foreign Languages under Royal University of Phnom Penh

At PTEC, he is actively engaged in curriculum design and course syllabus development, with a particular focus on preparing pre-service teachers to meet the evolving demands of contemporary classrooms. His work emphasizes the enhancement of pedagogical competence, communication skills, and instructional effectiveness among future educators. In addition, he contributes to fostering a research-oriented culture among student teachers by encouraging the application of educational research to inform and improve teaching practices.

Samuth’s pedagogical approach is grounded in the development of constructive teacher–student relationships and the use of practical, learner-centered, and innovative instructional strategies, and inclusive learning. He is committed to supporting students in the advancement of their linguistics and language competencies while equipping pre-service teachers with the confidence, professionalism, and pedagogical expertise necessary for effective teaching.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, he consistently pursues opportunities for continuous professional development and academic growth. Guided by the principle of lifelong learning, he remains dedicated to contributing to the advancement and quality improvement of education in Cambodia.
