About Rithy HENG

HENG Rithy is a lecturer of English at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC). He holds two master’s degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and in Education. He has extensive experience teaching English at Cambodian higher education institutions. His teaching responsibilities include courses in teaching methodology, reading and writing development, language skill development, and assessment in language teaching.

His academic and professional interests encompass English language teaching methodology, curriculum and material development, teacher professional development, and educational leadership. He is particularly committed to promoting learner-centered pedagogy, critical thinking, reflective teaching practices, and the effective integration of communicative approaches in English language education.

He has actively engaged in academic collaboration and professional development initiatives by participating in workshops, seminars, conferences, and institutional partnerships with national and international institutions. He has also contributed to academic coordination and institutional development activities related to teacher education.

His current research interests include Lesson Study implementation, teacher professional learning, classroom-based research, and improving English language proficiency among student teachers in Cambodia. Through his knowledge and experience, he seeks to contribute to the development of English language education and teacher training in the Cambodian higher education context.
