About Sizet VEN

VEN Sizet is a Lecturer of linguistics in the Department of Languages at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC). She has dedicated her professional life to linguistics, Khmer literature, and language education for 16 years. She entered the education service in 2010 as a teacher of Khmer literature at Hun Sen Koh Chen High School in Kandal and subsequently joined PTEC in 2018, where she now serves as a lecturer of linguistics.

She holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (2010–2013), a Teacher with Higher Education Degree from the National Institute of Education (2009–2010), and a Bachelor of Arts in Khmer Literature from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (2005–2009). She is currently a PhD candidate in intercultural linguistics at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary (2023–2027). Her multilingual proficiency encompasses Khmer, English, French, Thai, and basic Hungarian.

Her professional development reflects a strong international orientation. She studied concept-based curriculum development at the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore (2019–2020); completed TESOL through the University of Oregon, under the U.S. Department of State's E-Teacher Program (2014); and served as a Language and Cross-Cultural Facilitator for the United States Peace Corps Cambodia (2015).

Her educational philosophy holds that knowledge must be accompanied by social and emotional development. As a lecturer, she integrates relationship skills, self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness into her teaching, believing that equipping student teachers with both academic competency and emotional intelligence is essential to producing effective educators for Cambodia's next generations.
