About Sovann HONG
Mr. HONG Sovann is a highly experienced educator with a profound background in history, social sciences, and teacher training, dedicated to the education sector since 2011. He holds a Master’s Degree in History from Khemarak University, a Higher Education Teaching Qualification (Bachelor+1) from the National Institute of Education (NIE), and a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the National Institute of Business. Mr. Sovann joined the Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) in 2018 as a History Lecturer and was subsequently appointed Head of the Social Science Department. In this key leadership role, he oversees the implementation of the social science curriculum, manages departmental operations, and supervises essential initiatives, including the institution's Health Education and Health Room programs. Committed to continuous professional development, Mr. Sovann has successfully completed numerous international training courses across Asia—including in South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and India-focusing on Teacher Capacity Building, Regional History Education, Educational Leadership, Social Science Inquiry-Based Teaching Method, Health Education, and Faculty Development Programme on Building Bridges in Social Sciences.
