About VANNAK VANNAK

Mr. Koem Vannak is an Earth Science educator and teacher educator at the Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC), Cambodia. Since joining PTEC in 2022, he has been actively engaged in preparing pre-service teachers with strong content knowledge and effective pedagogical skills in Earth Science and Geography.

Mr. Vannak holds a Master’s degree in Geography from the Cambodian University of Specialties and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Land Management from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. He also completed his pedagogical training at the National Institute of Education, equipping him with a solid foundation in teaching methodology and curriculum development.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Vannak accumulated extensive teaching experience across various educational institutions, including New Generation School at Prek Leap High School. He also served as a specialized Earth Science teacher at the STEM Teacher Training Center (STTC), where he contributed to strengthening science education in Cambodia.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Vannak has been involved in multiple research and data collection projects with national and international organizations, such as Louvain Cooperation, KHANA, and the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH). His work has focused on areas including public health, migration, and social research, where he developed strong skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and research ethics.

Mr. Vannak is proficient in the use of digital tools for education and research, including MS Office applications, STATA. He is committed to continuous professional development and has completed training in research methodology, data analysis, and communication skills.

With a passion for education and a dedication to improving teaching quality, Mr. Vannak strives to empower future teachers to deliver engaging, student-centered learning experiences and to contribute meaningfully to the development of Cambodia’s education system.
