About Phirun TEP

TEP Phirun is a teacher educator at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) with more than ten years of experience in teaching and training. He spent five years as a high school teacher before transitioning to a teacher educator role, where he now supports the development of student teachers.

He holds a Master of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Norton University, and a Bachelor of Education in School-Based Management from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Over the years, he has participated in many professional development courses both locally and internationally to stay current in teaching methods and strategies.

At PTEC, he is involved in curriculum design, course syllabus development, and the creation of standardized assessments. His work focuses on preparing pre-service teachers to meet the demands of modern classrooms while improving their communication and teaching abilities. He also helps promote a research culture among student teachers by encouraging them to use research to improve their teaching practices.

Phirun’s teaching approach emphasizes building strong relationships with his students and engaging them through practical and creative methods. He is passionate about helping students develop their linguistic and communicative skills, as well as supporting pre-service teachers to become confident and capable educators.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, he continuously seeks opportunities to enhance his skills and knowledge. He believes in lifelong learning and is committed to contributing to the improvement of education in Cambodia.
