About SOPHEAP SONG
SONG Sopheap is a teacher educator at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) with more than twenty-eight years of experience in teaching, training, and educational service in Cambodia. She entered the civil service in 1996 and has dedicated her professional life to the field of Khmer language and literature, including a long period of service at the Phnom Penh Regional Teacher Training Centre before being formally transferred to PTEC in 2019, where she now serves as a Higher Education Teacher Educator in the Department of Languages. She holds a Master of Arts in Khmer Literature from the Cambodian University of Specialties (2018–2020), a Bachelor of Education in Khmer Literature from the Faculty of Pedagogy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Khmer Literature from the University of Phnom Penh. At PTEC, she is actively involved in teaching, lesson preparation, and the mentoring of pre-service teachers specializing in Khmer Literature, contributing to the development of qualified teachers for general secondary education. Her work emphasizes strong subject-matter knowledge, accurate use of the Khmer language, and a deep appreciation of Khmer literary and cultural heritage. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded a Bronze Medal of Education in 2015 and was promoted to civil-service rank K.1.5 in 2022. Her teaching approach values discipline, responsibility, and continuous self-improvement, and she is firmly committed to lifelong learning and to contributing meaningfully to the advancement of teacher education in Cambodia.
