About NAK Pechleakhna

Nak Pechleakhna has been working as Deputy Head of the Science Department and Teacher Educator at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) since 2018. She teaches Biology, Curriculum Studies, Environmental Education, and Health Education.
Responsibilities: She is responsible for training pre-service teachers, mentoring student-teachers, supervising classroom-based research, and promoting student-centered approaches in biology science and environmental education. She also plays a key role in:
• Developing teaching materials, supervising student teacher in project exhibitions, and enhancing STEM education practices at the college.
• Supporting and giving guidance to teacher trainers and student-teachers in conducting lesson study, action research, writing research reports, and preparing theses or research papers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Science Department such as curriculum management and administration, including the preparation of monthly reports for science department and monitoring teacher trainers’ attendance.
Education: Nak Pechleakhna holds a Master’s degree in Biology from Khemarak University (2017) and a Master’s degree in Science of Public Health from International University (2010). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (2004) and completed professional teacher training in Biology and Earth Science at the National Institute of Education (2005).
Interests: Her professional interests focus on Environmental Education for Sustainable Development (EESD), school health education, interactive digital teaching methods, and student-centered pedagogy in science. She is also passionate about solid and liquid composting, hydroponic farming, durian farming, gardening, and educational video production.
Current work: Her current work emphasizes improving the quality of teacher education through innovative approaches, international collaborations, and practical projects. She actively participates in capacity-building programs with organizations such as JICA, Tokyo Gakugei University (Japan), and teach for Biology student teachers in Academic Subject and Curriculum Study.
