About LEK Chumnor, D.Ed

LEK Chumnor is a Cambodian educator, researcher, writer, typographer, and editor​​ with extensive experience in educational administration, literature, and academic publishing. He currently serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Educational Research and Library at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) and is a member of the National Council for Khmer Language at the Royal Academy of Cambodia.

With a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Sisaket Rajabhat University (SSKRU), Thailand and Bachelor of Art in Lao Language-Literature at National University of Laos(NUOL), he has contributed to research, teacher training, and curriculum development. LEK Chumnor is also an accomplished author, editor, and graphic designer, having completed more than 100 Khmer book projects and numerous research publications.

He is recognized internationally for his literary achievements, including the S.E.A. Write Award and the Mekong River Literature Award. Fluent in Khmer, Thai, Lao, and English, he specializes in translation, educational research, and cross-cultural literary studies.

In addition to his work in the field of education, He has served as the Vice-President of the Khmer Writers Association since 2017. In this role, he has actively contributed to training, mentoring, and coordinating literary writing and publication projects for numerous Khmer writers. He has played an important role in promoting Khmer literature and supporting the development of new generations of Cambodian authors, enabling them to publish and showcase their works both nationally and internationally.
