About Chann TOUCH
TOUCH Chann is a teacher educator at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) with more than eighteen years of professional experience in the field of education. Prior to joining PTEC, he served as a high school teacher for eight years and as a primary school teacher for two years. For the past eight years, he has been actively engaged in teacher education and professional training, contributing to the preparation and development of pre-service teachers in Cambodia.
He holds a Master of Arts in TESOL and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL). In addition, he obtained a teaching certificate in primary education from Takeo Teaching Center. His academic qualifications and professional experiences have equipped him with comprehensive expertise in English language teaching, pedagogy, curriculum development, and teacher education.
At PTEC, he has undertaken a wide range of academic and professional responsibilities. His work includes editing syllabi, preparing instructional materials for pre-service teachers, and identifying effective pedagogical approaches to enhance teacher education programs. He also supervises action research projects and provides academic and professional guidance to student teachers during their teaching practicum. His professional focus is centered on strengthening pedagogical competence, communicative proficiency, and reflective teaching practices among future educators.
His teaching philosophy is grounded in learner-centered and constructivist approaches, particularly Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL). He strongly believes that effective teaching methodologies should promote meaningful communication, critical thinking, active learning, and professional confidence. Through these approaches, he aims to empower student teachers to become competent, reflective, and innovative educators capable of responding to the evolving demands of contemporary education.
In addition to his institutional responsibilities, Touch Chann continuously pursues opportunities for professional growth and lifelong learning through educational research, professional development programs, and academic collaboration. He remains deeply committed to advancing the quality of teacher education and contributing to the sustainable improvement of the Cambodian education system.
