About Veasna CHUM
Mr. Chum Veasna, is an assistant professor of the department of mathematics, Phnom Penh Teacher Education College(PTEC), Ministry of Education Youth and Sport(MoEYS), Cambodia. He graduated with two master degrees of mathematics, at Royal University of Phnom Penh(RUPP) in Cambodia and Research Center of Mathematics(CIMAT) in Mexico. He completed bachelor degree at RUPP for four years and then he took an opportunity to complete bachelor degree plus one program at Nation Institute Education(NIE) of pedagogy for mathematics Teacher for one year. He went to work as a teacher of mathematics at Chrey Thom high school, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia for almost nine years and from 2018 to present he worked at PTEC. At CIMAT, he also joined the International Mathematical Olympiad(IMO) training course for almost six months for learning and observation of the education method of teaching mathematics for advanced level at high school. He is interested in research about theory and application of mathematics, mathematics for education and digital technology.
Recently, for working at PTEC, he provides the normal class of mathematics to student teachers and help them as supervisor for writing report research before they go to graduate. He attends STEM education team, research team of mathematics department and lead as a mentor for lesson study at attach school in lower secondary school. He also wrote research report and published a serval book about mathematics for teaching and learning at PTEC.
